shoe cord for Canon AE1 and Canon speedlite 577g

I have a Canon AE1 Camera and a Canon speedlite 577g flash. Unfortunately I have lost the shoe cord connecting the Camera to the flash. Do you know where I can get a new one. Or are the newer shoe cords compatible with my flash and my camera.

The new EOS is electrically compatible. Canon added two contacts to the hotshoe but they do not interfere with the existing contacts.

Cheers,

I think the 577G (and 533G) requires a dedicated cord (G20 or G100) between the body and flash. Only one end is a shoe mount - the flash end is like a "din" plug. The cord could, however, be extended with an EOS "Off Camera Shoe Cord".
