Oz Mags

Our kid's in Oz at the moment doing some stand-up gigs. He's in Melbourne this week, coming back to Sydney on the weekend I think. I'm sure he'd appreciate a (laughing) Geordie contingent....And apparently he's on some national tv show on tuesday night...hang on, is it already tuesday night there? Anyway, he's called Mark Maier. Dunno where he's on, but if you fancy a night out...

Read this at home last night dan, raced out to turn telly on and just caught him coming on. (It is not a show I normally watch) sorry I was unable to record it, I may be able to get a copy so I will find out.

Gus I thought it was "eeeeh my brother's a right b*stard" but of course dan writes his brother as a bigger one in his up coming Sitcom, eh Dan? ;-))

Would like to know how he got on - live show, isn't it? I think he was papperin' his keks.

No luck with the tape yet, I will ring a friend of a friend at Channel 10 see if I can get it off them.

He was pretty well received by the studio audience, it was only a short spot. Most were good sized laughs. I think he has adjusted his references ok, no I did not see him do it on camera, Boom Boom!

No overt references to any Uk brand or names. So many yanks that come here think everyone knows there own brands and then wonder when they do not get a reaction.

The Oz version of Burger King threw me the first time I visited. Can't remember what it's called now, but do remember standing outside it for the longest time trying to figure out why it looked so familiar. This dumb things you focus on when jetlagged out of your mind. ;-)

That`d be Hungry Jacks Ciara. Fantastic name. Though bizarrely there´s now both them & Burger King in Sydney. Some turf war or something I believe

That be the one. Maybe it's a franchise thing with the dueling names. Or a plot to confuse locals as much as the tourists. ;-))

Sorry but I'm not part of the Oz clique anymore. I got a transfer to the Kiwi clique but was swiftly bum-rushed into the USA clique although there are rumours of a move to the UK clique...

Nick when you get to the UK, choose your clique well, mind you if you are going to the match with Gav, you've been chosen already, not sure what clique Gav is in these days, it's been a while.

Cheers Oz Clique (Sydney Branch)
