It's possible to make a slide show under the VCD format, but I've never done it. www.labdv.com was going to document how to do this. The document may be available now, I'm not sure.

One can make slide show from the digital photos using Nero 5x. The trial version can be downloaded at www.nero.com. The slide show will be formated as VCD or SVCD. To control the playback on the dvd player, use the , keys.

I am assuming you have a VCD/SVCD compatible player which can playback CD-R/RW.

Good luck.

Using Tmpgencoder you can make *.mpg files from *.jpg s(photos). This is very simple as you can set the playing time and if need, you can also add audio to *.mpg. The *.mpg files can be burnt as a VCD. This gives you a slide show on your VCD player.

You can also use either Ulead Video Studio or Adobe Premiere to make this kind of .mpgs from photos instead of using Tmpgencoder.

Using any NLE or TMPGenc to create an MPEG stream out of a JPG file will necessarily constrain you only to 352x240/288 resolution. Still MPEGs for VCD can have a resolution of 704x480/576 which can only be obtained through the use of and in conjunction with Nero5.5.x.x, VideoPack, or I-Author. Why is this point always left by the wayside??

I just DL'd WinonCD3.8 yesterday. It does a great job. the stills are clear and the program is very fast. It took me only about 10- 15minutes to put 1300 photos on a cd and view them through my dvd player. I haven't added any sound, but will try this soon. i will get back to you. Ryan

THe only way to do this is to get an old microphone and kodak camera. hold them up to the sunlight and let the sunshine inside the camera and reflect on to your computer screen
