Wave all the Flags you want, but is it the Right Flag?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Poole's Roost II : One Thread

The third building block of a post-cold war world could well prove the most controversial. For three hundred and fifty years international order has been buttressed by the notion of sovereignty, that what goes on within the borders of a nation-state is its business and its business alone. The notion of sovereignty was itself an advancement that promoted order for it discouraged meddling that could all too easily lead to conflict. But over the past half century, and especially over the past decade, the idea that sovereignty should not be absolute has gained strength. Instead, sovereignty is increasingly judged as conditional, linked to how a government treats its own citizens. When a government is unable or unwilling to safeguard its citizens-when the inherent contract between the government and the governed is violated-the leaderships forfeits its normal rights. It then falls upon the international community to act-be it diplomatically, with sanctions, with aid, or with military force-under the banner of humanitarian intervention. The obvious challenge is to gain broader recognition of this modified view of sovereignty and with it acceptance of (if not support for) humanitarian intervention.

Imperial America, Paper at the Atlanta Conference, November 11, 2000 By Richard N. Haass, Vice President and Director, Foreign Policy Studies Brookings Institute and now Planning Strategist at the State Department in the Bush Administration.

Why are we sitting? again CNN? Fox? Stephen Poole, and the other mouthpeices of this bankrupt NWO-Globalist-CFR-Trilateral BS wagon?

Do we even have a country anymore, really? To these people in SYMBOLIC power, this is an OUT DATED Concept. Apparently it is, as we sit and watch the endless twiddle of Chowderheads with credentials tracing back to STINKTANKS like the CFR on their CNN and CocksNews.

Support our troops, question the Chowderheads till they cut and run.

Rick, maybe you should research and fins out all of the other areas of the world we have interfered with, in ways that were distructive, that have made us enemies. It's unbelievable, the damage we have done around the world in receint years. I'm sorry to say it, but it is true.

No I do not Ricki, why don't you explain yourself more fully for me.

Have you had time to ponder the OnBoard Luggage controversy yet?

I will entertain your response at that time as I detect you are awake sir.

Cherri - I am unclear how my commenting that Doc is sounding more and more like North and Milne makes me unaware of what we have done around the world?

Doc - My name is Rick, when you decide to address me as Rick, I will be impressed. As for carry on baggage, when you can assure me that baggage handlers will no longer break into luggage, or search through unlocked luggage, and steal, and that airlines will not lose my luggage, I will gladly send all my needed equipment for writing assignments as checked luggage. Trust me, I do NOT enjoy walking around with about 40 pounds on my back through crowded airports. BTW, you know you can make a weapon out of a toothbrush pretty quickly don't you? All you need is a toothbrush, tape and a lighter and something to grind it on (cinder block wall will do). You can also sharpen the handle down to a pretty nasty point. Won't show up on metal detectors, can be tucked in your sock, or even the crack of ass if you want. Now, how is stopping carry on luggage going to stop that one?

BTW, you still have not responded to *MY* question about what you have done to help the people in NYC. Any donations yet? Given blood? Money? Sent condolonces?

Rick, refer to Robert Ringer's first rule : "Never argue with irrational people (no matter how tempting)".

Others can go here and find the origins of some of the myths going around now and recall that the counter propaganda started almost immediately.

Heh. I'm a "mouthpiece" now?

A "mouthpiece." I like that. I've always wanted to be a "mouthpiece" for someone. Of course, in order to be a "mouthpiece," I'd sortof have to BELIEVE what the "controllers" supposedly believe, wouldn't I?

It's hard to be a mouthpiece for something that you DON'T BELIEVE EXISTS.

You don't get it, do you Doc? I KNOW you're not a "liberal." You just can't see yourself like others see you.

Headline: Earthquake Strikes California!

Doc: It's the fault of the NWO/Trilateralists.

Headline: Price Of Awl Goes Up!

Doc: It's the fault of the NWO/Trilateralists.

Headline: New Cars Will Feature Air Bags!

Doc: It's the fault of the NWO/Trilateralists.

You can't see this, nor can you see that fact that Rick -- same as me -- was acting out of genuine surprise when it first dawned on him what you were saying. You ARE smarter than this, Doc. Get a grip.

Our failures in this case were NOT due to some silly Globalist conspiracy. We were caught with our pants down at Pearl Harbor, and the Union was caught COMPLETELY unprepared when the South seceded. The reason? Nothing to do with global conspiracies, and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that, when there's not a war on, democracies tend to disarm and relax.

Get a grip. Bush is building a coalition of international support, and HE SHOULD. BUT -- and you seem to have missed this -- his administration has also said that, even if no one helps us, we will go it alone if we have to.

If having allies makes the job easier so that fewer American lives are lost, then I'm all for it. So should you be.

Get a GRIP, Doc. Everyone here is just as mad as you are, the only difference is, we're focusing on the REAL enemy: fundamentalist Islamic fanatics who have no regard for human life.

Bush speaks, Dow -490

Ashcroft speaks, Dow -550

Fletcher speaks, Dow -625

Powell speaks, Dow -670

Powell drops the BS and laughs Dow -650

Long past the time to end the yaking and get on with it.

Gee Doc, you want us to send in our boys to fight the evil bin Laden? Isn't this all a smokescreen by the NWO intended to justify takeover of the oil fields? Aren't Bush and Bin Laden just tools of the NWO? Wasn't the WTC attack known about in advance by TPTB?

But the biggest threat comes from the inner elite of the globalist societies. Within hours of the attack, the television and radio airwaves were full of ranking Council on Foreign Relations members, such as Henry Kissinger, Wesley Clark, Alexander Haig and Strobe Talbot. Talbot, President Clinton s deputy secretary of state, told Time magazine in 1992, "In the next century [today], nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority."

No matter who was speaking, their "party line" was the same: terrible tragedy, find and punish those responsible, stop terrorism. But, of course, since terrorists move between national boundaries, we must joined with other "freedom loving" nations and work with the United Nations and NATO to combat this new menace. This is a thinly-disguised effort to have a mourning and emotional American public stampeded into their New World Order.
