SLOC Night O

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

Last night much to my suprise there was a night O at Kirkwood Park. I checked the SLOC web page on Saturday morning. There were around 50+ people there. 18 groups and about 12 individuals. 18 controls were spread around an 87 acre park with a map at a scale of 1:3750, talk about hard to get used to... It was fun. There was just a little bit of woods running with the park being about 3/4 open land. I made about a 3 minute mistake on one control because I've completely forgotten how to Orienteer. So it's off to Laramie for a week long back to basics, intensive training camp.

Boy, is Snorkel going to be unhappy when he finds out the DQ is gone. I wonder what he will do for his usual 3 Chocolate Rocks per day?
