CARNIVORE NEEDED NOW? The U.S Federal Bureau of Investigation's controversial Carnivore, now called DCS1000, Internet surveillance tool is probably going to gain support in light of recent events. It monitors packets of data passing through an Internet service provider's network. It can tell the FBI what Web sites a user has visited, cookies, time of searches, and log-on/log-off information.
