NEW YORK -- Federal authorities have made the first arrest in the worldwide investigation of this week's terrorist attacks.

It's the first arrest to be announced in the far-reaching probe.

A source tells The Associated Press the suspect was arrested because authorities determined the individual has information highly relevant to the investigation and is a high-flight risk.

Justice Department spokeswoman Mindy Tucker says the person is a material witness. An official wouldn't say where the arrest was made.

Atlanta Another Target?

They struck in New York, and in Washington -- but could they also have had Atlanta in mind?

Federal investigators have reportedly come up with information in the aftermath of Tuesday's attacks, indicating that the terrorists may also have targeted Atlanta.

Officials tell the Associated Press that the FBI got the information from people it's interviewed since Tuesday -- people who knew the hijackers.

They say they're still developing leads. And they're not saying whether the threat against the city continues.

Officials in Georgia have met with FBI officials, and are ready to take any necessary precautions. Justice Department officials today released the names of 19 people they identified as the dead hijackers aboard the four planes. And they said they're searching for 100 other people they want to question in connection with the attacks.
