Dirty Don says Sunderland are Route One

From Sporting Life:

HUTCHISON WARNS SINCLAIR: DON'T GO Don Hutchison has taken a swipe at former boss Peter Reid by warning new West Ham team-mate Trevor Sinclair against a move to Sunderland. Black Cats boss Peter Reid has made no secret of his admiration for Sinclair, who has been linked with a £6million switch to the north east. But Hutchison warns: "He's seen all the speculation in the papers and I have told him: 'It's a good club to play for, the fans are great. But if you want to improve your football, the best place for you is West Ham. "Sunderland are very route one. I played on the right wing last year which wasn't my position and it was very weird because I went through games not really doing a lot. "I ended up scoring 10 goals, which isn't too bad. The flip side of the coin, though, is my football started to deteriorate a little bit. I'd have liked to have done a lot more. "I've said to Trevor I feel a lot more at home at West Ham playing centre midfield. And with the midfield four we've got and the boys up front, there is no reason why we can't finish higher than Sunderland," quotes The Mirror.

Sorry, but how is this a revelation? We've all noted the makem's hoof and barge direct play for ages.

He's shitting it because if Sinclair goes, so does any chance of West Ham (ie him) getting to play in Europe.

For him to say his game deteriorated at Sunderland is an insult to our intelligence: last season was easily his finest premiership season to date. And as for "I went through games not really doing a lot", in most cases this is just as well. He is best facing the goal running at defenders. In terms of holding the ball up - maintaining possession and tackling he is woeful.

Hutchison is a w******r: is an Englishman who plays for Scotland, a Geordie who played for Sunderland and now slags off a club which reinvented him. It will happen: he'll flog his granny soon.

I don't like him much either Dougs, but some of your criticisms are unfair. He was never going to get into the England team but obviously believed he was good enough to play international football...and Craig Brown has to select the best he can get. Also plenty of Geordies have played for the chimps, you know who they are. As for slagging off his previous club...his comments are not exactly earth shattering.

PS - my mate Craig went out with his sister once. She was dirty too, allegedly.

How many Geordies have celebrated goals like that or kissed the Makem badge? He hasn't stopped slagging them off since he left, this is just the latest round. Reminds me of Alex Rae who was spotted by Mag spies in a club in Durham. he asked them whether they supported SAFC and they said no so he said, waving a wad of notes around, "They only pay my wages: I support Rangers". W...r.

Anyone can kiss the club crest on their shirt. Doesn't mean f*&k all. Besides, professional footballers play where they can get paid. And not everyone born on the Tyne feels the same way about Newcastle. Like I say, I don't like him but that more for his on field play than whatever crap he spouts.

Bobby - he claims to have supported NUFC since infancy, that's the difference. I think he is a w....r for any number of reasons but the fact that, at heart, he doesn't know what integrity means is the biggest.

Oh, and he kissed his Sunderland badge specifically to piss us off: this is as cowardly as it gets since you are safe on a football pitch. Whether he'd have had the balls to do the same thing in the Black Bull is another matter.

Look the guys as thick as they come, he has no big idea of what he's doing anymore than Gazza ever did. The fundamental difference is that Gazza was a likable buffoon, Hucth isn't

Howay Dougal. Shearer wavng his hands to the Mancs probably would get him a glass in the face off the pitch in Manchester. He really isn't worth getting worked up about, especially as he's moved to another small club.

Football, as this week has shown, isn't worth getting worked up about: but we do it.
