New forum

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

I have started a new forum. I will continue to be a member here and that will not change. I am not angry, upset, or hurt. I just wanted to do one myself and try to lure some people who were not necessarily Christian conservatives. I kind of miss the debate. I hope everyone here understands. I love all of you and am not leaving. This is a great place and I just wanted to tell you all before you heard it someplace else.

Gee Lil Bit, that's funny. This isn't supposed to be a conservative Christians only site. Have a good time and best of luck to you.

Those who have bailed from Cside have all split along ideological lines. You have the super secretive liberal slant of BTS, the Village Commons which is trying to take over the liberal hole left by the departure of BTS, the Christian forum which is supposed to be the Christian forum and this one. Then of course you have Cside, where anything you say can and will be deleted if it doesn't fit in with the ideologies of the mind numbed don't question authority and Government is God fuhrer und unter fuhrer. What next? Let's fight Forum? Heck, JOJ stops in here from time to time, and that's about all you're gonna get.

Sorry, but I don't see the need nor do I see the void. People are all split and I believe that generally you are viewed as even more of a conservative right wing Christian than I am.....so anyway, best of luck to you. I don't think we can recreate what was destroyed.

The things that were good about Cside are changed and can't be reclaimed. What drew all of us there was the homesteading commonality, the debates were what kept many of us there and what sent many away. I'm just tired of splits and disintegrations....It's interesting how reflective of the "moderators" personalities these boards are, even when you try to make it clear that you aren't trying to control people's thoughts or responses. Que sera.

I am really sorry if I hurt your feelings Doreen. You're right maybe it is silly to try to recreate what once was. I'm not really trying to do that. I am simply trying my own thing. I am not trying to take away from your thing, just trying to do my own. I don't think of it as a split. I think of it as another place to have fun. I wouldn't have mentioned it at all except I didn't want you to feel I was trying to keep it a secret. I was not putting down conservative Christian people at all. I am proud to be all those things. I was simply saying that what our forums turn out to be are not always what we intend them to be. I know that JOJ stops in from time to time. I still miss the wide diversity of thought. Maybe this won't help either. Maybe I missing something that will never exist again. possibly the reason for that is that Countryside has a national appeal. People come to the Countryside forum because of the magazine. None of the rest of us have that drawing ability. If I hurt you please forgive me.

Lil Bit, good luck. I am just really tired and sick to my stomach over all of these thousands of deaths. It just seems like more fracturing to me, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Again, good luck.

I miss what was at Countryside. I didn't participate in the political stuff much, but I sure did most everything else. I was a big contributor. I still mourn the loss and feel sorry for those being blindly lead down the controller's path. I wonder what it feels like to be in control and think you're so powerful over something that so significant a few have anything to do with at all.

I like this forum but have noticed that we can't get any good arguments going. That's not to put down this forum or Doreen, I happen to have lots of respect for her. Just miss the "discussion- arguing".

But the strong still stand. We're here, you're there, you're here, maybe we'll be there, sometime. Hope you find what you're looking for.

Conservative Christians are welcome to come to the Christian Homesteaders' Forum. We have been up and running since January 2001. Several of us frequent this forum as well. We are all homsteaders who happen to be Christians. Nobody preaches that their church is the "only one', or gets into arguments about forms of worship, etc. the love of Christ is what draws us together..we are not an argument- oriented forum. I personally enjoy the Freedom Forum and what it stands for. I hope i am not being critical, but cannot understand the need folks have to argue..life is way too short. The link to the Christian Forum is long and my eyesight is short, so anybody who wishes to find us can just e-mail me and I will connect them. God bless everyone..this is a tough week for all Americans, but together, with faith in an awesome God, we will get through this.

When lawyers talke about what they do, they say they are arguing the case. A respectful but direct discussion.

Thank you! I'm lucky when I can see the keyboard, never mind typing in all those letters and squiggles, etc......

Little Bit I'll post at yours every now and then But I have Freedom as my Homepage. Doreen and I can usually "discuss" with anyone without resorting to name calling or backbiting. That's one reason I came over here. CS has lost a lot of knowledge but they don't really care. And that to me seems to be a Bad thing. I like to think that we here at Freedom Cares. Not only about issues we are pro on but the posters be they pro or con.
