Advice on developing B&W film

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo: Creativity, Etc. : One Thread

I need to develop 2 rolls (36) of Kodak TMY-400 film. Can anyone recommend a good place to do that online (or in Los Angeles)? Also, I was told that TMY film costs considerably more to develop than regular film--how much should I expect to pay?

Thanks

Eugene,

It shouldn't be that hard to find a lab and the price should be the same as any other roll of black and white film (except C-41 processed B+W). Perhaps the Kodak web site could help or try either samy's camera(la) or Del's Camera (santa barbara) for assistance. Also, there maybe camera clubs, community darkrooms, high schools and/or colleges that you could use as a resource.

Peace,

I develop B&W film pretty often, tell me what you'd like to pay, reasonable, of course.

Eugene: there are several B/W labs in the L.A .area I'use a lab in Burbank On Magnolia (though I think He opened an branch lab In Hollywood the Name of the place is Isgo Lepejian Photo Lab) he was exclusively B/W though I think he does c-41 stuff now cost about$8.00 per roll for process & contact sheet These prices were as of a few years ago Im in Dallas Now so I'm not to sure about the prices but TMY shouldn't cost any more than any other 36exp B-W film unless you want it pushed or pulled I've used his lab since 1974 regards, Richard West
