How is correspondence with the Pope or his staff conducted?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

I have read questions and several responses about correspondence with the Pope. However, I did not read any definitive method of corresponding, nor whether it is feasible...other than the Pope not having time to read correspondence from millions of people. I would think there is a staff at the Vatican that would review correspondence, similar to the staff of our own President. The reason for my question... The Parish that I attend is preparing to celebrate it's 50th year anniversary, which we have named "Jubilee Celebration". I am on a committee that volunteered to research potential "Outreach" projects. A member of our congregation suggested to "Request a visit by the Pope", which of course is not feasible. Our committee is seeking an alternative by possibly having our Parish blessed at a Mass conducted by the Pope, having it documented, and correspondence received from the Vatican Staff for community and congregational, faith and well-being. (You can't achieve if you don't ask.) I won't need any suggestions about other Outreach projects, because we received and are researching several others. If you are aware of a method of corresponding with the Pope or his staff, sharing it with me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ted

Ted,
I'd say that your very best chance of achieving your goal would be to ask your parish's pastor to speak to your (arch)bishop about this. The (arch)bishop would surely write to (or better) phone the appropriate people at the Vatican to try to make your desire a reality.
We can give you an ordinary mail address at which you can write to the pope, but I would think that going through your pastor and bishop would be much better and faster.

God bless you.

if you speak to your pastor or (arch)bishop, the bishop will be able to contact the Papal Nuncio in Washington DC. This man will be able to take care of any requests you may have. This is a little late, but I hope that it might help you in the future!
