mpg2 to vcd/svcd

I HAVE A FILE THAT IS EXTENSION .MPG BUT WAS RIPPED FROM SVCD AND ITS MPG2. I TRIED BURNING THE FILE TO VCD AND SVCD WITH NERO. NERO BURNT THE VCD/SVCD BUT THEY DON'T WORK, PROLLY BECAUSE NERO ONLY RECOGNIZES MPG1. WHAT DO I DO? I WANT TO EITHER MAKE IT PLAYABLE FOR VCD/SVCD FOR MY VCD PLAYER.

The latest Nero recognizes MPEG-2 and can create SVCDs. Maybe you indeed created a correct SVCD. But to play those you need a DVD player known to play CD-R/RW and SVCD. VCD-only players normally DO NOT play SVCDs, whether pressed or CD-R/RW because they WILL NOT have MPEG-2 decoding. The only VCD players (non-DVD transport) known to play SVCDs as well are certain JVC models.

If you have a compliant mpg2 file and you burnt an SVCD using Nero and there was no warning sign from Nero when you added the file into the menu then you probably have created an SVCD, but may not have a CD player that plays SVCD. For DVD player compatibility, check out www.vcdhelp.com
