While this was a horrible tragedy, we have nothing to worry about as to world finances. Alan Greenspan will take care of it.

LOL Polly-Anna, I like sarcastic humor. We had a couple of regional shopping centers in the Phoenix metro area shut down today. Do you think those retail workers were paid for there unscheduled day off? I know all the government workers were, that goes without saying but what about all those peons working at the major league baseball stadiums. You think they'll get paid for there days off? Etc, Etc, Etc. Ripples in the pond. Its almost like 1 less day of GDP for the nation. BTW, all the airlines will pay dearly for todays shutdown and there already losing 100s of millions of dollars for the quarter. Which major airline is going to teeter into bankruptcy first? Anybody want any takers? Its either going to be United, American or Delta. United and America will get there asses sued off because they didn't take "sufficient" security measures. Watch there stock prices tomorrow, that's IF the exchanges are allowed to open.

I saw some idiot on C-NBC today say, in effect, "Ho hum. The world central banks will pump so much liquidity into the markets that the whole thing will be blunted, and we will get back to normal."

Normal? BEFORE this happened the world economy was on the brink. We might stabilize for a few days, but the downward bias in investing will now be so great that when some insignificant little company like Widget Enterprises comes up a penny short of its earnings projections, world markets will tend to crash.

I don't think the shorts in the stock market will have to worry about covering at this time.
