Gas lines and $6.50/gallon prices in OKCgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Current News : One Thread |
Well, the local news has video of long lines at gas stations, and news that some stations are charging as much as $6.50 a gallon. I was at a friend's house this afternoon (for a review of our mutual bug-out plans) when we heard this news. On the way home, I got into a traffic jam due to a large number of cars trying to jam themselves into the gas pumps of a 7-11 at a major intersection. They had their gas price signs down so I don't know what they were charging. I'm glad I filled up this morning as we were about on empty. (I paid $1.46/gallon.)Robert Waldrop, OKC printable flyers

Of course this has nothing to do with a shortage. Just one of those self-fulfilling prophecies.

On the way home (way east) of OKC, I saw that about 50% of the stations have gone up in price. The most expensive that I saw was 2.99 per gallon for regular unleaded. Most had only gone up from 1.89 to 1.99/gallon.Ouch on the 6.50. Glad that I don't live in that part of the city.
Made a stop at the grocery to pick up some milk, and was actually surprised that there weren't many people there. Only a couple.

I had to wait in line for half an hour to get gas. Every station in town had lines at least a block long. I finally went to a truck stop outside of town. Still 1.70, but the rumor is it'll be 2.50 by morning.
