'Tranmere fans refunded for "shambles"

LIVERPOOL (Reuters) - Tranmere Rovers will reimburse the travelling expenses of some of their fans who made the trip to watch their 4-0 thrashing against Brentford at the weekend.

Rovers, whose ground near Liverpool is more than 200 miles from Brentford's west London home, said they will refund the cost of the official coach trip to 80 supporters who watched a performance that even manager Dave Watson described as a "shambles".

"We have tremendous supporters who follow us away from home and Saturday was no exception," club chairman Lorraine Rogers said.

"We value their support and want this to continue, so as a gesture from the club, we are prepared to refund their coach fares." '
