Whose archives do you peruse when no one's updated and you're bored as all get out?

Oh, you know, besides MATH. (Actually, since I've read all their journals since inception, I just go back and read my favorite entries. And there are a lot of those.)

Having pretty recently discovered Jessamyn, I've been reading through her archives whenever I can.

Also, the lovely Sara Astruc. (Uh, why am I just now hopping on that train?)

I'm updating tomorrow, I swear!

I always go and reread Sara's -- her writing is incredible.

I've been looking lately at pineapple's, since I was awfully late to that bandwagon.

And when I'm feeling like kickin' it old school, I go read the Sugar and Preserves archives of Kim Rollins, which are great.

No will ever read my archives, want to know why?

Because when I made the directory I called it "archieve" as if having old entries was a feat to be achieved and I just realized the mistake two weeks ago. I'm sure anyone that tries to read them sees that, decides I'm a mondo dork, and stops reading immediately if not sooner.

I was reading all of beth's bad hair days archives but she pulled them (boo hiss google I blame you!). Everytime I add someone to my nieblung ring I read the archives so next on my list is Allison and Mike Berman. I already read AB's and I can't access T's.

(Wow, I'm a big ole MATH ass kisser.)

Sara's. I still haven't finished them, and I'm pacing myself. Now, T's, because I just got the password. And The Other Robyn (bitchypoo.com, robynanderson.com).

Wendy (poundy.com) doesn't have a long archive, but they are hilarious.

And my own. Because I'm that vain. Not really, but I read my own sometimes just to figure out what I've already told and whether or not everything was spelled correctly.

I was reading all of beth's bad hair days archives but she pulled them (boo hiss google I blame you!).

On that note, I miss being able to go through pamie's archives since she pulled them down.

I actually should read through my own more ... I keep wondering if I'm repeating myself and y'all are secretly thinking "Oh, shit, here comes the golf story again."

Sara's are back up??? I had no idea. That's pretty cool, and I'll probably go through them again because I have a feeling she's only opened them b/c of the Legacy award and they'll be down again soon.

I don't read my own archives, because they haven't been updated in about 137 bazillion years, although I actually did last week when I came out of the Pineapple closet to my VBF and she insisted on reading every entry that she was mentioned in. (This is who I hang around with, yes it is.)

Other archives I'm reading right now are those of the new people I'm reading (when I can get online), like Kathleen McCall of Occasional Muse who is funny as fuck, although she's a mom so she might not actually appreciate the expletive. I would put a link only I can't find it at this moment 'cause this computer sucks.

Because basically I've already read all of yall's. =)

I just caught up with AB's yesterday (I likes the new layout too!) since I fell slack around july..heh heh.

also been reading Tomato Nation when I can (yeaaaah I just discovered that like a few months ago and read an entry or two now and then) and commixion (I'm all embarassed cause I talk to him alot on chat and haven't read in like two weeks..haha), and erasing I've been meaning to catch up with since april. I just might start soon since I have some free time.

oh yeah - as for pamie's entries; I'm glad I saved about 10 of them. I sure do miss reading them from the site though...

I read my entries sometimes too; to see when things exactly took place if I'm updating on it in an entry or if I'm just curious to see how far I've come along or to admire how funny I was at a certain time. I know I was depressing as fuck around last year in my scribble journal. I cringe. criiiiinge I tell ya!

Just read this - slickery, youc an email me for the access words, and an explanation for why they're passworded.

I just wanted to say hey! Hey, Hannah Beth, you are cool! You stop by and peruse my archives any time. And that goes for the rest of you, too!

(And I don't know why I haven't been around here more lately. Y'all are not only very funny, but you give me the urge to say "y'all," which is pretty cool.)

Slickery, never fear as I archieved just today.

Your entry about sliding down the stairway railing reminded me of when I tried to slide down my grandparents' rail and fell off and landed on the coat rack. No one was very amused.

Huh, everyone was amused when I did it. Probably because I'm always hurting myself with stupidity. I no longer tell the jalepeno juice in the eyes story because once is funny, twice is just stupid.

Thank you for archieving me!

(T, I keep forgetting to email you from my home address! I do want to read your journal! I'm a slacker! Ack, attack of the exclamation points!)

This topic is being discussed on 3wa and someone brought up a good question, so I thought I'd dredge up this old topic.

When you start reading a new journal do you take the time to familiarize yourself with their archives or do you just keep going from your starting point? Is there anyone whose entire archives you've read?

If you have a journal - how do you feel when you see in your stats that someone's working through your archives? Flattered or skeeved?

-- Anonymous, November 08, 2001

There are a lot of archives I'd like to read all the way through, but time is an issue.

I usually keep going from the starting point, reading archives if the journaler links to it or if there's a major event that I hadn't read about.
