Brandywine Tomatoe Seeds, How to Dry Them??? And Would You Like Some???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

Joy said I should save some Brandywine tomatoe seeds as she has had a hard time finding the "good ones", well, these are THE GOOD ONES, and I haven't a clue as how to save the seed from tomatoes as I always start from transplants being the impatient gardener I am!!!

Anybody that wants some can e-mail me and give me their snail mail addy, once I learn how to save them that is!

Hi Annie, This is what I'd do. Remove seeds from the the best tomatoe, put them in a glass of water, pulp and all and let ferment a couple of days. The seed and pulp will separate. Put the clean seed on a piece of brown paper sack and let them air dry , store in freezer. Hope this helps. You know I've never tasted a Brandywine tomatoe. I've planted them twice and for some reason or another they never make it to the table. :>{ Yours sound really good, enjoy!!! Sherry
