...........will be plying their trade on Monday eveing at Croft Park (home of the famous Blyth Spartans) against Bedlington's Terribles. So, who's gonna join me in cheering on the Resorves? KO is 7:00pm.

Beer is pretty cheap in the clubhouse and profits go to help the Spartans tax debt. Howay, get yersels doon theor. It's "pay on the gate" and only £1 for bairns and £4 for their elders (aah think) - ye knaa it meks sense ;-)

Screacher,

I'm still not 100% - got some 'stuff' to take care of - might be struggling to be there for 7pm, but am hoping to get there.

Are you a definite? If so, where's a good place to meet up inside the ground? Level 7? ;o{)

COME ON THE TERRIERS!!

Well I am a Bedlington lad and a few of my mates play for them.

Yeah Mr C, I'll be there. Too good an opportunity to get "Brownie points" (and a free nosh from me Ma!). I'll probably be in the main stand on the Plessey Road side of the half-way line. I'll have the mobile with me.

Well we've finally won another trophy - the Northumberland Senior Cup, carried forward from last season.

Canny game that we won 3-1 without ever dominating against a very well organised Bedlington Terriers, who caused us lots of problems and indeed missed a few good chances.

Bedlington had slightly the better of the first half and held a 1-0 lead until just bfore HT when McMenimin equalised after an almighty scramble in the Bedlington 6yd box.

Michael Chopra and Richard Offiong came on for the last 20 minutes and sealed victory with a goal each, both well taken efforts, as Bedlington tired.

We struggled to exert any control in m/f throughout the game, and made things difficult for ourselves with some sloppy defending at times - sound familiar?

Bernard did quite well getting forward from LB in the 1st half, but wasn't quite so effective when switched to the left side of m/f after the break. Gavilan worked hard but little really came off for him. The Caldwell lads seemed a little uncertain, and made a number of sloppy errors when they were under a bit of pressure in the 1st half, but became more dominant as the 2nd half progressed.

Forgot to mention - BR and his normal entourage were seated in the Main Stand. Sitting beside Bobby was a young black fella wearing a wooly hat, that I assume was Sylain Distin - I'm sure he must have been mighty impressed by what he saw!! Attendance at the game was ca. 1,200, and the beer in the Blyth Spartans Club was canny - and cheap (Screacher bought the only round!)

Clarky - it wasn't the only round. You missed the "afters". Hic!

Thanks for the match reports, Clarky and Screach. Perhaps the habit of winning trophies will rub off on the first team. Though one has to wonder just what we have to do to get a strong midfield and defence.
