If you are comparing the Rolleicord to the Yashica I doubt you will see any difference. I have had three different Yashicas & the best example had a better lens than the Rolleicord. If however you are considering a Rolleiflex with a 3.5 lens it should have both a better lens & construction.

Tom,

The description of your "rollie 3.5 red t" is a bit too vague to make sense here: if you are referring to something such as a Rolleiflex Automat MX Type 1 with Zeiss-Opton Tessar "T"-coated lens then we can be more helpful. Anyway I'd just be as well give it a shot:

The presense of the Red "T" indicates factory coating which should be standard during the early-ish postwar era, and it could very well be a Zeiss-Opton Tessar which has a bit of a reputation for poor mount engineering; in a worst case scenario (which I encountered) it might look perfectly OK but cannot even produce an image on the film unless attended to by a lens specialist. Mechanically all Rolleiflex cameras should be fine if never suffered from mistreatments. The Yashica-mat G should be a later camera and by this simple fact it might be in better shape, but since we are talking about pre-owned cameras conditions make a lot more difference than the cameras' inherent performance levels.
