Where can I find a release cable for my canon ae-1 so that I can use my shutter to take pictures at night when the shutter is required to be open longer for better exposure?

Kenyall- all you need is a cable release, a bog-standard item that once was used by all cameras- and they all had the same fitting! There should still be plenty around both new and second hand. They come in different lengths and finishes, and should not cost much at all.

One tip- get one that has a 'lock' on it so when you make really long exposures, as you might at night, you can press the release then lock it and walk away for a smoke or a coffee, returning only to unlock it and let the shutter close. Most do have a lock facility, but not all!

Cheers JIM
