Does anyone use food grade hydrogen peroxide

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread

In the recent issue of ACRES USA magazine... they are suggesting per say... that food grade hydrogen peroxide in critters water could help with foot and mouth disease as it is a viral infection...

now not wanting to get into discussions on foot and mouth... I would like to know if anyone uses H2O2???

I use it infrequently for various and many things... but was wondering how much folks put in to critters water... at present it is only the chickens... dog and cat... and the related insect kindgom and a few furry things...

Yarrow...What is the difference between food grade hydrogen peroxide and the 3 1/2% I buy at my local Walmart? I always keep this on hand for everything from personal mouthwash to disinfecting and sterization. I've never put it in anyone's drinking water!

Thanks, Yarrow. Can I get this at a local store or do I order it from a livestock catalog?

Me too, Yarrow, where can we get it? I would like to keep some if only to get blood stains out of the laundry, Richard is rather like "Tim the Toolman Taylor" who injures himself constantly doing various projects around the farm here, and ruins too many shirts with blood stains on them!!!

After searching for food grade hydrogen peroxide, I found over 5000 sites relating to that and oxygen therapy. Looks like some very interesting reading, esp. the article about FELV and peroxide! Thanks, Yarrow :-)!

Just for your information, I use a hydrogen peroxide product in my swimming pool. It isn't food grade and I buy it for pool use but though someone who had chlorine problems might be interested.
