Student Monks, Bhutan.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : People Photography : One Thread

It is an honor to to the individual and his family when a young boy is selected for monastic training in Bhutan. Within this monastic village nearing central Bhutan, I met students who looked to be around the age of seven or even younger who will dedicate the rest of their lives to meditation and study.

This is a very interesting photo, and I have enjoyed seeing it. In particular, it avoids the stereotyped images of young monks (does everyone look for the same shot or is it always the same few monks>), with a much more varied range of expression. Obviously the boy at the center is the clincher for this.

On the down side, it seems like there is almost too many different directions at once. Although I am loath to give cropping advice, the boy at the left doesn't add to this.

Earmonn,

Are you going to be publishing your project on bound glossy stock?

If so, how much would it cost to get a copy?
