Using Konica Hexar RF 90mm f.2.8 on my Leica M6 TTL 0.85

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

It's working fine. The lens does pop up the 90mm frame. The lens mounts to my Leica M6 TTL 0.85 without any problem. The focusing at infinity was a little bit off. I was not able to align the two images perfectly together. (I was able to do so with my 35mm and 50mm Leica lens). I think that's not going to affect the picture quality for that distance. Anybody has this experience? Please comment. Overall I am excited about this Konica lens. Very well constructed. It's just purely fun.

Konica QC is the likely reason your 90 doesn't hit infinity on your M.

Hi Chris,

I think you will have more respone if you subscribe to the Hexar list. But anyway somebody on the net commented that the design parameters of the Hexar and the Leica may be different though based on the same mount. regards/wong

Chris:

Wong is correct -- there is also a much debated issue of film-to- flange difference (0.2 mm) between the Konica and the Leica. Konica admits to it as being there; yet many users of Konica+Leica say they don't see problems in their images. Popular Photography did a test a while back, and determined there were in fact some resolution problems seen when mixing the compnents. I think the real issue is how significant are the differences for ones style of photography...

Hi,

Can you give the month and year of the Popular Photography? I would like to read the review.

Thanks,

Chris
