I've created XVCD but Easy CD creator won't let me produce a VCD?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread |
Hello again, I am encoding my VCD with Pinnacle studio DV, and I've created large VCD files eg. at 3000kbps/sec. However, Easy CD creator 5.0 won't let me produce my VCD at that rate, it will ask me to set the default 1150kbps/sec, which in my opinion is "very" poor.My DVD player plays VCD at 1150kbps/sec, but I'm not sure if will play a VCD at a higher BitRate. I couldn't try because of the Easy CD creator. Anybody knows if NERO 5.0 will let me produce a VCD at higher BitRate.
Thanks!!

Yes, Nero will let you burn XVCD. It will complain that your VCD is not standard and ask you if you want to turn off compliance checking and burn it anyway. Click on the button to turn off compliance checking and burn anyway and Nero will burn your XVCD. Warning - some DVD players have problems with XVCDs at very high bit rates such as yours. You might check the DVD player compatibility list at www.vcdhelp.com to see if any such problems have been reported for your DVD player.

Why don't you just create SVCD?

I'm having a similar problem w/ EasyCD 4. The MGI VideoWave software that came packaged w/ ECD4 doesn't produce a VCD-compatible MPEG-1 file. HOWEVER, I ran the MPEG it produced thru TMPGEnc and then VideoCreator was "happy" and I made a VCD that worked on my DVD player. I still need to do more trial and error to better decide what settings to use (with all three software packages). (It seems that I'll need to adjust my JPEG's height/width ratio to compensate for "fat" people images. I'm making a VCD slide show of stills from my digital camera)
