Helen,

Is that Mike? Was he injured?

a heavy load,is hard to bear!!!

al-d, shouldn't that be:

"His yoke is easy. His burden is light."...?

I'll have to mule this over awhile.

-- capnfun (capnfun1@excite.com), September 06, 2001.

That mule IS Mike's twin. Uncanny resemblance. Fortunately Mike Mule is here munching snacks and watching the tube he insisted we install in the barn.

So, it's true what they say; the harder you pull, the more they pile on....

That's not an Amish donkey, and those aren't Amish buildings in the background. The old order Amish do not use pneumatic tires on their wagons, and the noble Belgian is the draft animal of choice. Not some lightweight like they show in the pic.

Garryowen, you are correct, of course. The visible details in the background would lead me to guess it was taken somewhere in North Africa, Morrocco, for example. But it's funnier to think of this mess as Amish, because the Amish are always so much in command of the situation.

Git yer gingham at Yoder's in Shipshewana.

-- Lars (lars@indy.net), September 07, 2001.

I haven't been to Yoder's, but I've been to Shipshewana. Nice town, and nice country around there.

And don't miss the Yoder's Hardware Store!
