Wm. E. Gray - Healer in 1940'sgreenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread
I'm wondering if their is any online information on William E. Gray, a healer who practiced in San Francisco in the 1940's. He had an office on Market Street and a trial was conducted regarding him practicing medicine without a license. Luckily, he was acquitted. I belive that William E. Gray was the subject of the Ruth Montgomery book, "Born to Heal". Any help will be appreciated.

His 1947 book KNOW YOUR MAGNETIC FIELD has been reissued. There's a review at the URL below and you can buy it there, too, for $16.50:
Quackwatch.com has an interesting article on magnetic therapy at:
They also have a lot of information on why bogus remedies seem to work for a while.

Thank you for the replies. I have found the information I was looking for. I'd also like to mention that Mr. Gray was not a fake. He had his day in court with the CMA and won hands down. An Official from San Francisco's Dept. of Health testified in his behalf. He also had letters from State Officials in Nevada, where he used to practice, testifying to his abilities and asking him to come back. This man was a real healer who wanted no publicity and tried to conduct controled studies on his abilities. He eventually was able to start a foundation to study the phenomenum and his theories, which are astoundingly similar the String Theory in Quantum Physics. He went on to practice well into his old age, being flown from coast to coast to help people who needed him, sometimes at no cost to the patient.

Carole, Would you please email me the name of Mr. A? I thought Ruth listed it in one of her books but can't find it. I've also been searching for the name via the internet with no luck. Thank you for your help. Donna

A colleague and I have been working to explore and replicate Bill Gray's methods and have had some significant success in this direction. We are interested in any information about Mr. Gray (beyond Born to Heal and Know Your Magnetic Field which we are familiar with) that is available about him.

Just to update: you can find a lot of information on an energy healing system based on Bill's work at our website: www.pathwaysforhealing.com
We've been developing, writing about and teaching this work, called Nervous System Energy Work, for a number of years now. A very powerful system which confirms the importance and effectiveness of Bill's whole approach.
