EOS 1V BP-E2 10F/s !!!!!!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

Hello Canon Forum !!

In the BP-E2 Handgrip is a little silver switch. The switch is for the 10F/s. The original Akkupack (10*NiMh Cells=12V) press the switch and so you have 10F/s. With the standard Batteryholder there is a hole with should press the silver button in the Handgrip, so you have only 6 F/s. (8 Batteries =12V). Now I put a strip over the hole and so the standard Batteryholder with 8 normal Batteries press the little silver Button => Oh such a miracle i had 10 F/s. !!! Fine, but after a little while the Battery Display shows only 1/2 Level ???? (But I turned the Camera off turing the little time ca. 1 hour.

What can I do, do have 10 F/s with the standard Battery holder ??? I wonīt buy the original Akkupack and the Charger. No itīs to expensiv.

PLEASEEEEEEE HELP ME !!!

Greetings CE Sorry for my bad english)!!!!!

10 NiMH cells will put out 12+ volts and fairly high current for nearly as long as they have any charge in them & then the voltage will drop off quickly. 8 Alkaline cels will also put out 12V for a short time but because of high internal resistance they will soon not be able to put out enough current (amps) for what the camera requires in high speed mode. The voltage will also soon start to diminish but not be close to exhaustion until they are down to around 8 volts.

In short the camera really needs 10 NiMH or NiCad cells for the 10fps mode to work well. Standard batteries just don't put out the high current and stable voltage that's required. Another method to do this would be to attach some form of external battery pack. A 12 volt gell cell could would work. You would just need a cord and a set of dummy batteries with contacts in them. Of course you would have to do a little surgery on your grip for the cord to come out.
