My last week of nights in September. Thank the Lord.

Y'all, tomorrow? Like, five updates. I just didn't have time tonight.

T, you could never be "a complete loser poser person." But that phrase cracked me up anyway.

And AB, I have to send you the photos of Mad Mad from the trip to Arlington Stadium. She really is the cutest thing ever.

BTW, there's a chance I'll be in Hotlanta for a weekend in November. The Girl (oh, hell, her name is Sima. I feel like a dork saying things like "That Girl.") has friends there and is angling for a road trip, so we might have to do some massive dinner-type thing. Of course, that assumes nothing will go wrong between now and November.

Only a few more days not being in the loop!

Y'all. I am never going to get all these journalversary things out by Friday. My notified readers are greedy! No, not really. I just didn't think almost everyone would respond, and who would've thought I'd have plans every night so far this week. Me? The world is stopping.

Oh yes, Berman, please send them! Keeping the cutest copies for yourself, of course. The world must know who Mad Mad is.

H, how many do you have to send out?

-- Anonymous, September 05, 2001

About 20. So, not almost everyone, but I thought I'd have to send like 10, including MATH.

Why is THIS math so slow?

Hey - I'm at kinkos. I had to come over here to type and print a cover letter. Oh, the indignity.

Yáll read this:

Dear Ms. Thompson,

I was very interested to hear from Elizabeth Fitch about the Marketing Communications Manager position available at Global Health Action.

I believe my six years of experience in non-profit health care marketing and communications make me the ideal candidate for this position.

As director of marketing for Oak Lawn Community Services, a small non-profit HIV/AIDS care agency in Dallas, I developed branding strategies and campaigns for health education and community development. I also wrote, designed and edited brochures, publications and collateral material and oversaw the printing and production of those jobs. In addition to these duties, I was an integral member of the revenue development team, working in small and large roles on fundraisers and events. Furthermore, the cultivation and maintenance of media and community contacts was a very important function for which I was responsible.

As communications coordinator at Texas Health Resources, a not-for-profit health care system in North Texas, I was responsible for the content management of the company's Internet and intranet sites and a variety of print publications. My duties also included the development of communications tools for system executives to be used inside and outside the company.

Ms. Thompson, I believe, based on my experience and interest in non-profit community health care, I would be a true asset to Global Health Action as a marketing communications manager. Please see my enclosed resume and writing samples.

Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Allison Lowe

That's an excellent cover letter. Seriously.

What's the difference between non profit and not-for-profit?

-- Anonymous, September 05, 2001

I am not sure, but there is a difference. It's a different designation having to do with how the government regulates you and your taxes and shit. I used to know, but I'm too dumb now to remember anything.

By the way, that Elizabeth Fitch that I referenced above is GAChick from Squishy who reads HYD. Never met her, but whatever!
