PLANT CITY -- A small handgun went off in a 6-year-old boy's pocket Tuesday while he sat in his elementary school classroom.

No one was injured when the shot was fired shortly before noon, said Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies who were sent to Robinson Elementary School east of Tampa.

The boy had not removed the .22-caliber pistol from his pocket, said sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Rod Reder.

Officers did not immediately determine where the boy had obtained the firearm, or whether it fire a blank or a live round, Reder said.

[six years old? Isn't that kindergarten? Maybe first grade? I wonder if he brought it for show n tell or if he was being bullied already.]

Gee, most little boys of that age just have ants in their pants.

I'll bet that little kid had "yuck" in his pants after the gun went off.
