sk,
I'm hoping that the +ve reponse AS and YKD got during the England game at the Flatpac Stadium will reduce the chances of that happening. I think it's unlikely, but you never know I'm afraid.

I won't stand up. Unless some big bu99er in front of me is - in whcih case I'll have litle choice if I want to see the game. Personally, I hate (oops) the negative chants. I can just about accept it if we're actually playing the team that's supposed to be hated. I'd be interested to know what the players' feelings are when they're busting a gut to beat their oppos and they hear some morons chanting "Stand up if you hate XYZ". Yes Soops, I'll be accutely embarrassed when that one starts up. :-(

The Stand up songs are irritating, even "Stand up if you love the toon" does my head in.

That one's dead easy Tony - you simply sing "sit doon, if you love the Toon". Works every time. ;o{)

Problem is, there are no good England songs: Rule Britannia and No Surrender to the IRA get the most frequent airing at England matches. Oh and that tragic refrain, "Come on England".

Dougal, you forgot the classic:

Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh, duh - England!

-- Anonymous, September 05, 2001

Alternatively:

Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap - England!

I made my girlfriend sit through the first half of the Germany game when it was repeated on Tuesday night. Afterwards she just kep singing the Great Escape tune with England added on the end.

I wonder if she will be supporting us in the world cup next year....
