Dear all

Am in Ashgabat in Turkmenistan and have been here two weeks. Last sunday night ws taken to one of the two usuable bars in this locale which had TV and sports!! I ws arrayed in my balck-n-white shirt with Broon Ale logo (still think its the best) and to my chagrin was watching Turkish basketball. Rushed back to the hotel where they have internet access which is so slow. However managed to get onto here later on after the game had finished. I read the threads thru from start to finish and it was really the next best thing asto being there, watching it on TV or radio. Manhy tks many tks. The delightful young Russian girl behind the reception desk was bit concerned when she saw this Foreigner wearing some sort of football shirt leaping up and shouting "Bellamy's scored what did I tell ya" She enquired what ws the problem. I told her Bellammy had equalised. "Of COURSE" she said which summed it all up. Many tks to you all Syme, Screacher, (ws Bud there??) and am suprised at yr langauge Ciara when hyou have had a couple of bevvies and the other team scores, quite an eye-opener.

OK thats all will be lurking around tho and we are signing Distant Drums or summat???

Derek, amongst all the cr@p and bile which has flowing roubd here this past week or two, it's so refreshing to hear that this place is still performing a great service.

I do have to take one issue with you tho, lest folks should think I was shirking in my duties. I was not on the Match Thread last Sunday - nay lad, I was Screaching me heed off at the lads at SJP at the time ;-))
