Bellamy's price tag

I was speaking to a Coventry fanin the bar last night about our 'star' striker. I was telling him that he has done a very good job for us recently but I felt that he was over priced at 6.5 million.

He told me that we had actually only paid 3.5 million. It hadn't been announced on the market to cover the Chairmans backside and would be in due time.

The Coventry fans are still extremely angry that all of the money that they got for Keane went on Bellmay and would be riotous if they found out they hadn't got back all the money.

That's interesting Kegsy mate, he's performed OK so far but he's hardly set the world on fire, if it was actually 'only' 3.5m quid I'd feel better about the deal.

Ameobi's been disappointing too, we need some muscle, shooting, heading and ball-holding skills up there - basic prerequisites of a forward!

I read somewhere forgot where that it will raise to the 6 mil price tag after "add-ons"? Not sure what that means but I would assume appearances, maybe even international appearances etc.

... this would also explain the bizarre fact that his £6.5mm transfer has still not yet been announced to shareholders.
This is bad form by both Clubs actually - although I don't think Coventry are a public company, in which case their position is more defensible.

And the clock is now running for the first irate posting as to where all the money has gone if he only cost 3.5 :-)

Yeah all of us with access to the newswires were searching for it for days around the time of the transfer...very strange...

Yet (apparently) we did announce the acquisition of Lua x2 which was only £2.25M. Perhaps Fat Fred has a heart of gold after all, trying to protect Richardson (?), who co-incidently said they had to sell Kirkland to 'pool to get some money as a consequence of being "asked to step down a division". Reckons it cost them £15M.

Perhaps Cov will get a slice of any future fee we might get when we sell him for £18M at the end of the season ;-)

I'm convinced that we may yet see one of our lesser lights go to Coventry...

Freddy "Heart of Gold" Shepherd may find himself in jail if he's not careful. Selective disclosure is a serious matter.

Marcelino would look fetching in sky blue, don't you think?
