Kids do the darndest things!

Okay, another kid question, but this one is fun:

All of us probably have one good kid story, a story about a child they know that did something or caused something hilarious. Lets share some of these experiences here. I have a three year old son, but my nephew's story beats any of my own (so far, anyway).

About four years ago, my brother, his wife and two children, son (5 years old) and daughter (2 years old), were at church. When the priest said "Let us pray . . .", my nephew, not knowing the prayers, but wanted to join in, said to himself,"Peter Peter pumpkin eater".

The old man, sitting next to my nephew, heard him and stifled himself from laughing out loud. Or at least he tried to stifle himself; he sent his top plate flying out about three pews ahead of him. The plate landed and stuck in the hair of a young woman, who was carrying her daughter, who was about 5 years old.

That child, turning her head to see what had hit near her arm, came face to face with the denture plate several inches from her face. She stiffend up, eyes wide with terror, and let out a scream that probably was heard across town. Quite a service interruption. Took the whole congregation by surprise. Happy ending though; the man and plate were reunited, though the plate was rinsed off before returned to its normal spot.

This story was too good to keep in our family circle. Do you have any stories in the same vein. Please share, these stories are really to good to keep to ourselves.

wow, JR. good idea, I really liked yours. When my Bre was a little girl, she spent the night with her grandma, Grandma was reciting the prayer, Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, and if I die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take. She looked up to see little Bre looking at her wide eyed, Bre said, but Grandma, what do I do!

My friend Patty took her grandboy to robins Crossing, a place where they dress up and act like it is the 1800's. A fellow was talking to the kids and telling them that people got married alot younger in those days, then he went on to tell them that people didn't live as long back then either. He then asked the children why they thought that was. Pattys little grandboy said with all sincerity. "Because they married so young?"

The one thing that sticks out in my mind most is this. My son is now 13. When he was 4, cried because I was going to a baby shower and he couldn't go. He said he wanted to see what a baby shower looked like.

When the little girl I babysit for was about 3 1/2 I was teaching her about praying to God. She couldn't understand how she could talk to someone she couldn't see. Then a few days later I walked into her room amd she was talking to someone on her toy telephone. When she saw me she said "Gotta go now God, bye bye.

Another time this same child asked me if God has a sense of humor.

My neice Jordan was 3 when her great-grandfather passed away. She called him "Papa-Papa" to distinguish him from her grandfather, who she called "Papa". The following summer we were holding the 100th annual family reunion at my parent's house, and the weather was starting to look like rain. Jordan said "Don't worry, I told Papa- Papa to tell Jesus not to let it rain today." It didn't rain all weekend. :) Jordan is 6 now but she still talks to Papa-Papa on occasion.
