Dinna fret folks, jes taakin to mesel lyeuk, seein as neebody was ganna ask lyeuk , I`ll fill you in, not ye Kevin cos your my mate and MacBeth is of the form oh-pinny-on (sp) that we hev bonded , it would tek me aal me time to bond with that Basil Don fella , nivver mind a Whickham Mackem. Moving on , football meeting tonight, on the agenda How our fun week went, sort the details out for 60`s legends "The Fortunes" for our Marquee on the 8th , for others than Clarky/Pit Bull and at a pinch Screach, `Freedom come , Freedom go , ring a bell???? There is a referee shortage at present which is causing concern , trying to get the match on Sat moved forward so teams can watch the game between Scotland and Croatia, Wor lass has hinted at going to the Braemar Gathering, not fussed, last week we visited Strathdon and watched the Lonach Highlanders calling at Billy Connelly`s house for their customary dram during the march . 13,000 attended the event later but this has just turned into a people watching display. Since Billy moved he always brings Robin Williams over , give him his due,he enters the 6 mile hill race and finishes midtable, Eric Idle and Ewan McGregor appear to hold more attraction than the centuries old games traditions and this has been duly noted , Sunday I will be preparing to put a profile roof on my sun room and bedroom , the flat roof has survived 20 years and that`s the finis. In between I expect it will be a mixture of football , firewater , and curry, off for a week , round of golf , helping 93 year old neighbour with his fencing , hard to make out who is the slowest, back to work next Friday, see ya all

Golfing tonight and Sunday at Bedlington, Wednesday at Garesfield and Friday at Linden Hall. Everything else over the next week is unimportant.

Early to bed tonight as I've gotten a last minute call-up to work the US World Cup qualifier in DC tomorrow. Volunteers dragging ourselves to RFK bleary-eyed by 6am for a 10am kick off (bliddy tv scheduling!!!). Not sure if I'll be working the DC United match directly after, not even sure what I'll be doing for the WCQ for that matter. Since the matchis sold out(and I'm broke), this is my way in to see it. Should be a great atmosphere. A US win tomorrow clinches our spot for next summer. I think all that would be left to decide is whether we go as group winners or runners up. :-)

Back to DC on Sunday as some friends will be in town for the weekend, so we'll be sightseeing. Monday(holiday here), I'm sleeping!!

The wife and bairn left for the South today so I'm OMO for a fortnight. Filling this weekend by going down to Seaburn to collect a load of cobbles to make a path for a colleague in Washington whose husband was invalided out of the mines and can't do the heavy stuff. I am under strict instructions not to mention my allegiance to anybody until after we load the cobbles (which are from a market which has got rid of the olde worlde feel).

Did you say Washington, Softie. If you fancy looking in for a cup of something, or even if you're not doing owt special, come and watch the footy at wors, we've got tons of room if you want to stop over.

Give me a hint quite quickly and I'll e-mail you the address etc.

Pub open for the Tri-Nations rugby early tomorrow at 9:30 am - hope the AB's win as there's something perverse about the results this year. Couldn't stand the Aussies winning again.

Then there's some football on apparently, don't know who's playing, like. ;-P

Go to market, buy meat + veg for weekend, browse book-market, read papers, start cooking, watch Ierland-Nederland (hup, holland, hup). Couple of Mates coming round to watch German match, including an American pal, born in Switzerland of Irish/German parentage(who will he be cheering for?) + new girlfriend (we're all v. curious). Watch match, get intoxicated (probably). The morrow, chill out, read a bit etc.
