The Pharmacia Corporation of 7000 Portage Road, Kalamazoo, MI has issued a product recall of DELTASONE Tablets (prednisone tablets, USP), 10 mg, bottle of 500. NDC: 0009-0193-02 Lot Number 29DRB

The company is voluntarily recalling the above product because their quality assurance department received a report from a pharmacist that one bottle, which was labeled as 10 mg, was filled entirely with 5 mg DELTASONE tablets.

This recall is being conducted with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration. No other lots are affected by this recall.

Pharmacia requests that if you have dispensed to a patient any of these tablets since December 12, 2000, please contact the patient and instruct them to return the prescription to you for examination. If any 5 mg tablets are discovered and 10 mg tablets were dispensed, immediately notify Pharmacia by calling 1-800-253-8600 ext. 3-8244. Instruct the patient to immediately contact their healthcare provider.

Please perform a count of your inventory for DELTASONE Tablets, Lot 29DRB. Customers will receive credit from the company for the returned product and associated shipping charges.

If you are asking me how I got it here, I typed it all in again! (Kidding!!!) Actually, I cut and pasted it from the e-mail that I got.

If you're asking me how I got the e-mail, it was sent to everyone that has an e-mail account here, Faculty, Staff, Students, Tulsa, and GNRC. We get these types of e-mails, as they deem them important. Just wanted to pass this one along, as I hadn't seen it anywhere else.
