Here's an interesting rumour, from a novel source, that I picked up when trawling for info. this morning.

This mornings newspaper in Finland (!) reckons Eidur Gudjohnsen's father, Arnor, says that Chelsea are on the brink of accepting a bid of 5.5 million for Eidur, who has not played a single minute this season, and was dropped from the bench against Southampton.

Here's the rub - according to his father, Eidur would love to move to Newcastle.

Weren't we after Gudjohnsen before he went to Chelsea? Were we outbid by them, or did we not bid at all? Wasn't he interested in coming here before? And who put the bomp in the bompshabomp?

We were rumoured to be interested in signing Gudjohnsen - although I reckon that was just to keep Softie happy - but allegedly fannied around until Chelsea snapped him up for a bargain £4mm.
I'm not convinced BR - who had him at PSV - was ever really interested in him.

Gudjohnsen is the former Bolton player right? Big muscle-bound forward right? All I think I remember of him is a play-off game. Canny player I think, good for us d'ya think?
