Leica Photographers in New Issue of American Photo: Salgado and HCB

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

The September/October issue of American Photo has an interciew with Sebastiao Salgado. He describes his equipment: 3 R6s with 28mm, 35mm and 60 mm lenses plus Leica rangefinders. He does not like to change lenses. His films are Tri-X and T-Max P3200. He has pushed the T-Max P3200 to EI 12,800.

The magazine also has a circa 1961 photo of Magnum photographers, including HC-B.

I have a subscription to American Photo and very much enjoyed the article about Salgado. I also enjoyed the vintage photograph of the Magnum "Greats" in photography. The only criticism I have of American Photo is the there are far too many advertisements and not enough good, practical articles written by people in the know.I wish they would publish more such articles or I may be forced to cancel my subscription.
