Bellamy blunder

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere on here but it looks like Bellamy has done a Hughes and put his foot in his gob about Newcastle having more talent than the mackems.

When will they learn?

If he [and the rest of them] starts to put his money where his mouth is then i'll have no complaints.

Until then i remain unconvinced...

Contrast our player's ramblings with Peyter's carefully chosen, contemplative words that provide no opportunity for BR to use his words to wind up our lot:

Peter Reid has told fans to read nothing into Sunderland's recent success against Newcastle United at SJP, and has said his players will be treating the game as a one-off.

Sunderland have drawn one and won the last two derbies at Newcastle during Reid's reign and the manager obviously wants to keep the unbeaten run going. He said: "I know the fans will talk about those results but for us it's a one-off derby game. Since I've been at Sunderland we have not been beaten there and obviously I want to keep that going but St. James' Park is a very difficult place to get a results, especially when it's a local derby.
This is a special game made by the fans. Derbies are never easy, they are usually quite lively affairs and I'm sure this will be no different. It's a fantastic game between two great, great clubs and there will be a white-hot atmosphere, I personally can't wait.
If we can win a third successive game at Newcastle for the first time in 100 years it will be some achievement, the icing on the cake
."

The only comfort I'm taking is that their fans think it's already won (see Makem Panel in yesterday's paper for example).

Cry Roly , its a crying shame that tomorrow`s match from whichever angle you look at it will feature 2 poor teams ,as the song say`s --

-------------Don`t cry for me Tyne and Wear--------------------------

-------------You know I`ve always loved you-------------------------

-------------In the good day`s and all the dark years---------------

------------ I have kept my true allegiance ,-----------------------

-------------For you my team, My Newcastle---------------------------

____________And as for titles, and as for cups__----------------------

------------I never expected much-----------------------------------

-----------Though it seemed to the BBs it was all I desired---------

-----------They are dreams , they are illusions , they are us-------

-----------------------Have I said too much--------------------------

-----------Theres nothing more I can say to you----------------------

-----------But see me now and you will know --------------------------

---------- Full time score, Newcastle 4 Sunderland 2 ---------------

---------------Never cry for a mag Roly Gregoire --------------------

-----------You know we will always beat you---------------------------

------------All thro our wild days, our mad existence----------------

-----------Welcome on here but keep your distance--------------------

Howay the lads, howay the lads, howay the lads, howay the lads, united

If derbies are such fascinating games as one-offs, why don't we make them two- or three-offs ? Surely that would double or treble the interest ?

Bravo, Buffvito! :-)

Well lads and lasses I do see a Tonking coming on. Agree with Buff but not so generous 4-1 Toon (more than makes up for 1-2(x2))

Pete in C., 3-2 to us, is my latest asssessment, 10 hours 40 mins. before kick-off; I might have to revise that if Shay and Warren are both playing!? :-(

Excellent Buff!

Bellamy can say what he likes - he scored. That'll do me.
