Are you visiting any Buddhist sites? East or West?

BOROBODUR, which is completely amazing and well worth the lengthy trip. Near Yogyakarta, Java (pronounced "jojakarta," "joja" for short). I recommend staying at the Manohara Hotel, inside the historic site, for at least two nights to give yourself enough time to take in the many narrative streams and experience arriving at emptiness at sunrise, sunset, etc. Subandi Lukasmoro was our excellent driver from the airport who our last morning also drove us to the nearby Mendut Temple, with its active Buddhist monastery, and the major Hindu monument Prambanan, which is on the other side of Yogyakarta. We found him at the excellent information desk at the airport; his contact fax there is (0274) 496678. The Monohara's website is www.vocal.net.id/twc/manohara or www.borobudurpark.com/manohara. About $45/night for a double, including breakfast. Nothing in Indonesia is expensive unless you inist on staying at an Aman hotel--there's now one near Borobudur.

I am not sure if this is the right area for this but I had the most amazing Buddhist experience of my entire life this evening. I live in Summit County, Colorado which is approximately 70 miles from Denver. Today the Heart Shrine Relic Tour stopped less than 10 miles from my home. Being around the relics of the Buddha and his disciples was the most amazing experience in my entire life. There is a project being built in Bodhigaya. Bihar State, India where the relics will be enshrined. Please when the project is complete visit this site. If you want more information on this project go to www.maitreyaproject.org.
