Id snap him up LR but I very much doubt hes finished with you lot just yet. - this probably came from the same source as the cole thing...

came from a source inside United's training ground. A good source. However.......I doubt it.

But it would be terrible for the younger members of the crowd if we had both Stam and Bellamy in the same side, although there's always Chadwick to make things even worse

stam's book, eh? double standards? Fergie can say what he wants, but others can't in their books?

That's a very good point Swifty...IF that is the reason that this "rumour" started. I'm kinda thinking that SAF is more of a man than that.

i would sack him for writing one in the first place. what the hell has he got to say? apart from tales of tapping up...

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2001

Well i don't want him, if he is not good enough to keep a Neville out of CB, he probably isn't good enough for my team let alone the EPL!

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2001

That's a joke Gus...yeah?

He's a monster centre back and U know it

Chelsea can add him to the collection.

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2001

If the reason he wants out is because a Neville is getting picked ahead of him, I would prefer to get a CB who was better than a Neville.

Looks like I will stick to bloodworms!

Stam is a quality player, and if he did want to sign for NUFC I'd snap him up in a second.

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2001

IMO 10mil would be better spent on Stam than on whinging, miserable Cole.

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2001

Your probably right ciara. Cole might score a dozen goals for us this season - a decent centre half could prevent us from conceding 20-30.

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2001

But he's so plug ugly. I mean he looks about 55 so how come he's still playing in the Prem? If we sign Stam then I'm a Dutchman.

.... then just be careful which dyke you're sticking you're finger into!
;o{)

Funny - most of us thought our top priority was a central midfielder until Wednesday but now we think a centre half is more important (although two goals were the fault of a full back and another the fault of the goalie).

-- Anonymous, August 24, 2001

Just exactly what kind of 'dyke' are you alluding to there, Mr. Clarke? ,p> ;7)

Well it doesn't look like Marcia will ever make it back into the team to be a commanding centre half. Dabs definitely ain't it. I'd be far happier if he weren't starting every game for hwich he's available. Hughes and the Caldwell's either aren't commanding enough or don't have enough experience yet. So, yeah, we still need someone for the position. As well as a strong central midfielder. No matter our injury problem, I'd rather we concentrate on those positions before buying anymore strikers.
