Fluxian Fetishism

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Aeon Flux : One Thread

What kind of fetishes can people find in episodes of Aeon Flux? Leather and B&D are an obvious one. Borderline beastiality in Isthmus Cryptus. And foot fetish in the first episode with no dialogue. In one scene she is posing for a foot fetish magazine, and after she dies, some weird dude with a ribbed-for-her-pleasure tongue goes to town on her feet.

Control.

Is control a fetish? Regardless, it is kind of an in-your-face theme throughout the series. Submission too. In both Leisure, one of the original shorts, and The Purge there are instances of men being very submissive and degrading themselves for women. Of course in a broader sense the whole series is about different factions constantly vyeing for control.

Also voyeurism and exhibitionism are very big in the series. Trevor likes to watch, and he has the camera's to prove it. And of course Aeon is a spy. Utopia or Deuteropia is the main episode to watch for these fetishes. (I notice that the VHS tape sleeve mispelled it Deutoronpia).

I'd say foot tickling fetish. Aeon was tickling her foot with a feather in the magizine pose and the ribbed tongue looked more like a feather. But leather and B&D definately own the episodes of Aeon Flux.

Geez... I would say not B&D but D&S is the overriding kink. I agree with Barb & Logo, control is key. I found in the season three episodes that Aeon and Trevor are flexible enough to either be in control or give it up (sexually & otherwise) but the rest of the characters veer to one of the extremes.

Indeed, foot fetishism is explored in the series, I suppose this activity is such that animation provides an ideal platform for insight into it. The dynamics of power-female power specifically, domination or that which is considered a bit from the norm. Then what is the norm anyhow. As someone who finds foot fetishism very intriguing , I really enjoy the aspect of it within the context of the series.

Hmmm...yeah the blue guy with the loofah tounge...that was strange! What is the blue guy? Looks nothing like a Monican or Breen but some fantasy creature.

You know, in the original treatment Aeon becomes a sort of God after death, creating and destroying universes at will. But if a fetishist were God, they would just indulge their fetish. Maybe the foot scene is Chung's take on omnipotence...

Unless power was their fetish, in which case they would go on creating and destroying universes at will. Hmm, God as a slave to his own fetishistic yearnings...interesting.
