SO if Cole Signs

Its got to be a blessing. If he plays in goal he has got to be better than Given. How all of the Sunderland fans rated him as a keeper still astounds me. I have never booed a Toon player before but I'll make an exception in the case of thiis so called ex Mackem.

Mitty

Jesus

Bobby

PLEASE DONT PLAY HIM AGAIN

Never mind on Sunday

WHile I'm on Mick Mahoney would still be better than this short arsed idiot!

"I want a transfer 'cos Iv'e been dropped for being a liability"

THings to do as a manager. No1 Get a goalie who is bigger than Ken Dodd's Diddy Men.

No2 Get a goalie who can catch the ball

No3 Get a goalie who can catch a cross

No4 Get a goalie who can kick a ball

No5 Get a goalie who wins me games instead of losing them.

Now then, Shay can't do the first 4. And as for No 5 well?

And before any sanctimonious whining. Yes, I do go to the games. Yes, I have given him a chance. And NOHE ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH

ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR MOST SUNDAY LEAGUE TEAMS NEVER MIND THE PREMIER LEAGUE All of these Toon fans who complain about Barton need to have a serious look at themselves if they can't see the problems with the so called top keeper at the club Mitty

ANd while the formatting may be crap

I'd still have saved the Zenden shot, the Troyes free kick, I'd have also caught the cross from my abysmal kick out that allowed one of my opponents players to break free.

It may look like a witch hunt, but wait until he costs us the game on Sunday. Mitty

Nice to have you on here Steve. Maybe Bobby will pick you on Sunday - give you a chance to upset your old Easington mates. Most of us here reckon you deserve your chance. Stick around - you'll definitely score with one of the lasses on here. :-)

Or if that's Shay - don't be too hard on yourself bonny lad - phone the Samaritans - and try and catch cold before Sunday. Er - yes - I can see a difficulty there ...

FFS ly off Given yes he has a two stinkers but he still is a class keeper. he has won us more game than he has lost us and it is not his fault the defence infront of him is crap. Remeber Leeds in January he won us that game.

Name a keeper who has never had a sticky patch! i can't name one.

i do however agree that harper should play on sunday so that given can play in the reservers and get some condidence back.

emm wasnt Given player of the season last year?? suppose that dosent actually say much.

Given is a shot stopper, pure and simple. He doesn't command the area but then neither do our defenders. Steve Harper is a mere shot stopper, too, possibly a bit more likeable but also more prone to try to be Barthez and failing miserably. On balance, it doesn't matter a toss who you play in goal although Given is a tad more likely to throw his toys around if dropped.
