Jonno,

Its not swift its me gus (just in case anyone accuses me of using someone elses name) (I would not do that would I Screacher 5000)

It was reported somewhere that PSG centre back Distin was our guest at the Troyes match. He was also rumoured to have stayed to discuss personal terms. He was supposed to go to Bolton, however he MAY want to team up with his good friend one Laurent Robert. Or so the story goes!

Thankyou Gus - perhaps you might like to act as Swift's interpreter on a regular basis? Not much money but plenty taxi rides assured.

DISTIN HEADING FOR NEWCASTLE ?

Bolton's hopes of securing the signature of PSG defender Sylvain Distin have taken a bashing as the 23 year old enters talks with Newcastle.

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce seemed to be well down the road into making the central defender a £4m aquistion at The Reebok Stadium, until the player was spotted at St James' Park on Tuesday chatting with Newcastle officials.

It seems that Newcastle's new £10m winger Lauren Robert has persuaded his former PSG teammate that joining him on Tyneside would be a good idea.

From what MiDAS can gather, Newcastle now hope to sign Distin on a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent move.
