Good morning, good morning!

I would like to say, for the record, that "Spelling Queen" is not me.

Really? I totally thought it was.

Y'all. It's 7:43 EST. Why?

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Nah, man. I'm a stickler, but I ain't tacky.

Be back in a minute.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Y'all aren't going to believe this, but I just updated HYD. That's twice in less than 24 hours. And you've got to read today's entry, because it's very, very crazy.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Crazy and funny. Poor little ol' pitcher.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

My first thought was that it was pineapple.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

She's sort of starting to get on my nerves, and I can't put a finger on why.

Y'all, my knee is killing me, and there's no reason why it should be. I wish Matt would give me some drugs.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

That pitcher incident was so retarded. I mean SOOOOO.

I loved that thing, too. And I broke it. The MOC was really sweet to me. I was like "I BROKE MY PITCHER AND NOW WE DON'T EVEN HAVE TEA AND... UH... UH...Uhhhhhhhhh!!!!"

And then I did the fake Madeline cry, except I was really crying.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

The fake Madeleine cry is appropriate in oh, so many situations.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Allison - voucher at Motel Me? Brilliant.

When am I going to use that?!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Hee. Thank you.

Is there anything better than a chicken biscuit? I'd like to see it, if there is.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

AB, you have to give us an update soon on The First Grade... The First Grade...

And I just had a brilliant idea.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Do share.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Ah, you must wait and see. HA!

People... Slobberbone... coming here and to Athens... October... so happy... MOC will freak with joy...

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

oooh, Jealousy.

The forum is slow today. Maybe Writergirl had to get some work done.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Okay, I'm only saying this because well, because.

Omar posted this in the "next big thing" thread in 3wa about pineapple:

She's got tons of energy and is trying all kinds of different things on her site. And the writing is always smart, funny and endearing. I tell people about her site the way I used to tell people about Squishy.

I don't get this. At all. Her first few entries? T and I used to be like, who IS this psedo-southern deb who talks ad nauseum about snails? That said she's grown on me, but I don't get this kind of "following." Especially comparisons to Squishy.

And what new things is she trying? Melee? Everyone does that. What's new?

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Well, you know, she DOES have that map.

Blah blah blah.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Wait a second... wait a second... that means Omar voted for HER over ME in the diarist thing? AAAAAAHHH! Well, now I care about it!

Ah, hell. No I don't. However, it stings. Of course, I update four times a month, so I don't know why I'd be expecting to knock anyone's socks off or anything.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Ha! Damn, when did I get all bitter?

AB - how's the redesign coming?

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Well, because your journal is better maybe? And it's not even about that. I mean, it is, but it isn't. I just want to know what "new" things she's doing. Besides, the map I mean. Does she have the B-side? The Bull Pen? Those are actually, oh, new things.

See? Bitter. Thank goodness I have rudergirl to put me back on my pedestal. I never even knew anyone could be that tacky and that proud.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Yeah, but those new things are very slow on the build. I have put a total of two entries each in both those sections. I want to do more, but I haven't had any creative spark for either of them.

Actually, if we are going to talk "new things," why Lin Chao get passed over for nomination? She new. She different. Somebody prejudice against Taiwan. That all to it.

Lord, rudergirl. Man, getting drunk in Gadsden is my idea of hell. Really.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

They Taiwain-hater, that all it is. If we going to talk about it, why don't we cut the chase, huh?

Hannah, you can see parts of my redesign if you want. It's here:

AB - that is awesome! You get nominated for best design next time, yes!

I especially like the before/after cookie.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Thanks! The cookie is my favorite part too. It Master V idea! He so smart!

I'll have it up in a few minutes.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Oh, and Melissa's going to see what she can do to help out the West Memphis Three.

They'll soon be in an even bigger mess than they are now with Meloonsa on their team.

Also - I'm surprised Keli put up photos of her boys. If you're going to use pseduonyms etc., why put up their photos?

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

God, I hate her. She is just so nuts.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Oh, re Keli--she said in her notify she was taking them down in a few days. They are cute, though, especially the little one.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Heeeeeeee...

But the photo at the end. Death!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Dear Lord.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

How I would love to find her new journal, because I know she has to have one.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

T - tell us more about your interview!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Y'all. Greenspun hates me. I had no idea there was a thread for yesterday or for today, as they didn't show up on my computer.

I went to interview for the grassroots field manager position, and they told me about a better position - a public affairs manager. I'd work with their pharmeceutical clients, setting up meeting with elected officials, etc. There's be travelling several times a month, which I normally wouldn't like, except they want me to travel to NEW ORLEANS. Uh, yeah. They need someone as of the beginning of September, and it would be a good salary range. They just called me and I'm going to go in at 9:30 tomorrow morning. It looks good. Melissa, the ASC alum, had the same advisor as me. SHe called Dr. Scott this morning and she said that Dr. Scott had only wonderful things to say about me, and that I was "sassy."

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

T - that's great! The girl you interviewed with is an ASC alum?

I've gotten the nicest email about yesterday's entry.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

It was such a good entry. You hit on the best thing about being in love: you CHOOSE to love. That's why I feel like the most important love is that between you and your spouse. I don't think (and AB, you'll need to enter your opinion) that it's a comparable love to the amazing love you feel for your child, or your family. You'll love them without question - they're your blood. But your spouse, or whoever, is someone who you choose to give yourself to, and that knowledge shakes me to my core.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Did y'all read that "Are Boys the Weaker Sex?" article? It's good and so much of it you're like Ah HA! Of *course* boys have a harder time expressing their emotions. It's because their brains are wired weird!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

AB - I love it. My only question is: the lin chao text and reading etc. stuff is a LOT bigger than the entry font. It might be my computer, but I just wanted to check!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

It is? Damn. Are you using Netscape?

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

I just checked it in IE and the same was true for me. The big font thing.

I haven't looked in Netscape.

It really looks great, AB. Very cool.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

OK, I check in Netscape and same thing. It's just the type on the front page where you have the entries listed. Your second index page.

Also, in Netscape, the entire left column on the entry page is bolded. Not so in IE.

Macs are so clazy.

But you know, it looks awesome. Where you find Chinese graphics? Look perfect!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Okay, y'all look now. Damn damn damn!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Look same.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Looks the same for me too. IE on iBook.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

That's crazy, y'all. It looks fine on my ibook in IE. In Netscape it looks super crazy, but I don't care.

I'll work on it.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

No one care about Netscape!

Jessamyn's new one is good. LONG, but good.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

If you look one more time, I'll give you a kiss.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Well, pucker up, purty.

It looks perfect!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

YAY!

*smack* *swak* *mwah*

You have three kiss! Thanks, baby.

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Hee!

Y'all. I just did something crazy. Certifiably CLAZY. I just joined Meloonsa's notify. Someone has to keep an eye on that loon!

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

No you did NOT.

I think we should all join it, just to see what she writes in them.
