The whispering

Speculation is rearing up that Sweden's next Mens coach will be a former Womens coach: Signar Eriksson. He's about as respected as they come, and if this rumor is borne out, then look out! It could be happy days again for the Swedish men after many years of being largely dominated by their neighbors to the west.

The press release from the Danish national team -- where SE had been national coach -- said he was going to Sweden for a new job. It didn't mention what the job was. But, it would be consistent with taking the national team job in Sweden.

In July, a Swedish paper reported that Marita Skogum was being considered for the Swedish men's team job.

Expressen -- a Swedish paper -- is speculating the SE will become "idrottschef" (sports boss) and would be involved in selecting the men's national team coach (but not actually be the men's coach).
