Sounds like you solved one of the hidden name poems addressed by Poe to his lady friends. Mary Frances Osgood was a poetess, wife of a painter, mother, close friends with Edgar and Virginia Poe. For more details seek out a biography or www.eapoe.org. Perhaps you suspect they were secret lovers at this point, but such flirtatious exchanges were usually common and fairly innocent especially between fellow poets. Poe wrote others and they are not that hard to solve.
