George Graham...

...was on the TV in the pub after the match. He was all sweetness and light about the Toon - "deserve success", "great manager", "magnificent fans", the usual platitudes.

You could almost think he was looking for a job

He is....... and if they really have been talking to people like bloody Souness, then GG's also a distinct possibility!
Start praying someone else offers him a job - PLEASE!

Same problem as ever if your manager disappears mid season.

Keegan meant we could either go abroad and try and Get Robson, or end up with Dalglish.

Dalglish meant the same and we ended up with Gullit.

Gullit the same.

If Robson was to leave it would be Bryan Robson, George Graham or Troyes manager

Is he any good at making beds, doing the ironing and washing the windas? If so, iIll offer him a job. Saw him on Sunday's PPV. Didn't like his attitude at all. He'll probably be there again in 1/2 hour when I stop work ;-))

I know thsi will cause consternation amongst some of you but I would say that GGs record as a manager has been superb at every club he has managed and would do wonders for NUFC.

We all know what he did at Arsenal in terms of winning trophies, but less is known about his work with the youth set up which brought through many great players.

At Leeds he again sorted out the youth set up and as a result the wee babies are now playing out of their skins for O'Leary.

At Spurs he once again gave youth the priority and players like Doherty and Davis have come through to be very good players.

Above all he can organise a team especially defensively and can win trophies. What do NUFC need? A decent defensive system a better organised midfield and a trophy or two would be nice.

Forget the bungs etc. Look at the mans managerial record and it can't be faulted

Yup you're right...it does cause consternation!! Having GG in my opinion would be going back to the bad old days of Dogleash.....no way man....

What's he up to these days? Dalglish I mean

I rate GG as a good manager , do you think D Oleary gyet did it all on his own?

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

No I actually think that Howard Wilkinson set it all up for GG and D O'Blimey (it wasn't a dirty game)....

I read a very interesting article by Alan Sugar about George Graham. He said that coming into football for the first time, he accepted the opinion of others about GG's ability as a football manager. This, and his track record at Arsenal suggested he was the perfect appointment. However, he found out from bitter first hand experience that he was absolutely useless - as a man manager, and indeed in every other aspect of management.

My suspicion is that is the norm in fooball team management, with very few exceptions.

First John Gregory, now GG + Bryan Robson. I smell a rat. YBR's supporters are cunningly whispering highly unattractive potential successors to the meejah to ensure their man remains untouchable.

According to a Dutch commentator when GG got chucked out of Spurs they cleared his office and found 7 grand in cash. Graham claimed this was the accumulated fines he'd got from players. Could be nothing in it but personally I wouldn't trust him with selling programmes.

IMHO GG should not be allowed in football after the Arse bungs. He has since said a lot of crap about Shearer while manager at Leeds. It was disgusting to hear him criticise our player (of assault) when he himself should have no right to enter any football ground in the country.

If we got him I'd just ignore the manager and concentrate on supporting the lads.

He stole money from Arsenal supporters
