Obsession for insecure men

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I should have resisted really but couldn't help glancing at the RTG board.

How sad is this?

Every single post currently on there is about us. I mean it. Every last one of them. Pages and pages of it.

Now I'm not by nature a rabid anti-Mackem. There's just a hint of 'liking all NE teams to do well' in me (which I realise is prime 'I'll get my coat' material in both Tyneside and Wearside, but sod it). I'm starting to revise that though. I mean if the situation was reversed surely Toon fans couldn't be arsed to gloat over the Mackems so much that they forget about their own team. They'd have a little gloat and then move on.

Seems we have genuine cause to feel superior to these clowns

Excuse this waffle. I'm pissed. In both the British and American senses.

Answers

HTML tags + alcoholic inebriation = unwanted italics. See above.

I have to say Shags, there were a couple "webcasting" in on our Match Thread. I took it as a compliment.

I never realized I could do the "italic" thingymebob. WooooHooooooo!!

-- Anonymous, August 21, 2001

You didn't Pete ;-)) They're left from Shaggy's cock-up.

Be fair - if you had a massive club on your doorstep and you had to go past it every time you wanted to go shopping, use the train, or the airport (or have a KFC), then you probabaly couldn't avoid talking about it. :-)

Okay I vaguely remember posting that. If unclosed HTML italics are carried into subsequent posts then it follows that a close-italics tag (I've just put one in) should fix the problem.

Only a scum fan could be so po-faced as to visit another teams board THEN suggest THEYRE obsessed with his team.

Still laughing

-- Anonymous, August 22, 2001

Are you saying you're not obsessed with us? so what exactly are you doing here?

-- Anonymous, August 22, 2001

Seeing how you like someone acting the twat about your beloved team

As Macbeth (he wont admit to it) & Stew Canel & Andy W & god knows how many other did to RTG last season & before, knowing they could rush back from RTG and hide behind a password

(Note. i dont intend on ruining it like they did though)

Go on! Take a look at some of the posts that were archived!

"OHhhhh yes, lets run off to RTG today dougal, i will post as Magical magpie, it yours turn to post as Mr X isnt it? tee hee hee!"

Just answer the question....what are you doing on here?

Only a scum fan could be so po-faced as to visit another teams board THEN suggest THEYRE obsessed with his team.

As opposed to someone who joined in the opponent's match-day thread?

Why I am I getting images of that advert with the singing milk-shake bottles?

havin a look around, aint been here before

-- Anonymous, August 22, 2001

Hey Barbarian, what's your juice? You come here to fly the red and white and hope we'll give a crap? Guess again boyo...you're fightin a losers batttle (much like most of your mackem buddies).

You're about as useful here as a back pocket on a shirt. No hard feelings though, as I said before, it's tuff trying to hang with the big boys...here's a dime, go call someone who cares...

Back pocket on a shirt

LOL Sparxx! I'll put this one on back to front and report back after trials ...

Is this tit for real, this is the same monkey spanking twat that posted the false scores last night. I'm tellin ye I am so tempted to visit the RTG it almost hurts.

-- Anonymous, August 22, 2001

Where is this RTG board exactly?

-- Anonymous, August 22, 2001

Against my better judgement. Go to your search engine and put in Ready to go....it should give you a link. You have been warned.

-- Anonymous, August 22, 2001

Here's a link. Just had a quick skim through headers there - tonight most seem to be on-topic pre-Fulham prediction stuff, although interestingly the Who has actually posted on RTG? thread has been copied from this board and pasted onto that one.

Don't even consider going there, Paul - it's a ugly place.
Trust me on this one.

-- Anonymous, August 22, 2001

OK Clarky, I have heeded your advice and I will stay well away.

BTW, is this the sort of message that will be copied onto RTG and then I'll get my website hacked into or something like that?

-- Anonymous, August 23, 2001

Based on syme's experience I suspect anything is possible, Paul - just don't turn towards 'The Dark Side'. ;o{)
