what is wrong with tino martinez?

You mean generally or why is he on the DL?

I'd rather see Nick Johnson play everyday 1st base than Tino any day. A good start to this season does not make up for the last few mediocre years.

The issue isn't really whether anyone leaving a comment could do better. None of us get paid millions a year to go out there and play first base for the Yankees.
There's no denying that he pulled off two outstanding hits in the last two games (Games 4 & 5 of the World Series) or that he led the team in home runs and RBIs in the regular season. He probably has done enough to get resigned this offseason, but that doesn't mean that I still wouldn't prefer to see Nick Johnson at first base.
Maybe the best idea is to keep Tino here and have him bring Nick on, much the same way they did with the catcher's spot, Joe Girardi bringing Jorge Posada to the point where Jorge was ready to be the every day catcher.

nothing is wrong with Tino that a new team around him wouldn't fix.

There is nothing at all wrong with Tino. He is just another great Yankee doing his job! Nobody should be talking about him because I would like to see YOU go out there and put as much effort into the game as he does. He is defenatley one of the best. I mean come on, whoever is on the Yankees MUST be the best! Love Yahs All, GO YANKEES!!!!!!
