Just finished reading the new Orange Blossom Special book by Ted Shrady and my old friend Arthur Waldrop. Previously I had only the addendum to the 1st edition, but this new complete edition is a adsolutely great reading experience. I cannot express all the acolades that I feel for this wonderful book, which I recommend to all who have not read one of the editions. Even though I am a 2nd generation SAL'er, and had heard of the OBS and the song, and what that train meant to the SAL, I really did not have a through knowledge of it, as it was already gone when I came to work for SAL. My congratulations to the Society for publishing this fine work and of course to the authors, to say the least, even though Arthur is no longer with us and I realize this was a work of love for him.

It would be worderful if the Society could get permission to have prints made of those great front and back paintings, "A Name Like a Cocktail" and "Florida Bound" as they are both beautiful. I particularly like "Florida Bound" at the Hamlet depot. What about it Board Members?

You can get copies of the print"A Name Like A Cocktail" directly from Gil Reid. I have a copy hanging in my office. You can get Gil's address from one of his ad's in Train's Magazine. Gil is one hell of a nice fellow-I have several of his works.

Dave. I'm at work right now, so I can't address the "Florida Bound" picture's availability, but "Name like a Cocktail" is a Gil Reid painting that is available through Kalmbach, if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, you can find it somewhere in Trains or Classic Trains.

We do not carry these because they are available elsewhere and have been for years.
